Whether it be aiming to eat healthier, move more or make time for meditation, we all have some kind of health and wellness goal. With that ‘New Year, New Me’ determination, we scroll Pinterest for workouts, create Insta worthy meals and quite literally, work our butts off at the gym! But you know what? In the craziness of our everyday lives, we don’t take the time to celebrate our hard work. And we should! Here are five healthy ways to TREAT YO’ SELF without reaching for that sneaky Tim Tam:
Free time = ‘Me’ time
1. Reward yourself with a relaxing massage
There’s nothing quite like a massage to rest and recharge. Qantas Assure Health Insurance can help policy holders cover the cost of a remedial massage if they have Family ($150), Lifestyle ($200) or Top ($400) Extras Cover – how great is that?! You can also earn up to 50, 000 Qantas Points by joining or switching to Qantas Assure which means you can start planning your dream holiday as your muscles unwind.
Look good, feel good!
2. Treat yourself to some new active wear
Everybody knows that when you look your best, you feel your best. So why not invest in your workout wardrobe? A new pair of funky tights or trainers are the perfect ‘to me, from me’ present and will motivate you to keep smashing your wellness goals- while looking like a boss!
3. Create a spa afternoon at home
There’s no reason to splash out on an expensive spa when you can create your very own oasis at home! Throw on your dressing gown and invite the girls over for an afternoon of facials, manis, pedis and a whole lot of fun.
4. Switch off your phone and switch on your creativity
Do yourself a favour…create an electronic black out. For one hour, resist the urge to scroll and take some time away from the screen. This is an opportunity to practice mindfulness and pursue your creative outlets so why not paint, draw or dance? You could also lose yourself in a good book or get stuck into an adult’s colouring in book- something I personally find suuuper relaxing.
It’s time to get back to nature
5. Buy a new indoor plant
It’s true what they say. Nature has the power to calm and relax us and offers perspective when everything becomes too much. It is for this reason that we should bring it into our homes! By purchasing a new indoor plant as a wellness reward, not only are you gaining a fab new accessory for your house, but a physical representation of your achievement – you go girl!
