To sit snuggled beneath my favourite woollen blanket on the floor of my living room with candles flickering warmth around me – is bliss. To know that I did it and it is finished – is bliss. To have the time to do my nails (yes, a complete mani and pedi with a buff and polish) – is bliss. To have my darling husband home again watching an English murder mystery with me – is bliss. To turn my brain towards frivolous sweet dreams – is bliss. Yes, you could say I have had a pretty blissful night.
This afternoon I handed in my last assessment for the semester; I conquered the dreaded assessment weeks! It is delightful to be at home, in my lounge room, instead of locked in the study applying my mind to the law. I’ve only left home to go to work, not even having time for the gym (although I did try once but I left my runners at home so I had to come home again… a result of my study brain). My subconscious thoughts while writing this are, ‘am I going to be over the word count?’ and when I went to save it I went straight to my university folder. Come back to the real world Amy!
I did however have last Saturday off and it was the BEST break, because this darling girl, my best friend Elle flew in to visit.
We went to Dandelion and Driftwood for lunch, had lots of coffee and then went shopping. It was so good to see Elle, I haven’t seen her since Christmas!
Dandelion and Driftwood is the perfect cafe for girly catch ups, check out the cute interior:
The food is really good, but a little bit pricey – this chicken pie was $14.50.
The coffee here is really good but this time I choose Chai (I’d already had a few coffees that morning!)
