She came. We conquered….the shops of course!!
It had been 4 months since I last seen had seen my Mum (the longest time apart in my whole life) and boy was it refreshing! As you can see, day 1, we did a bit of shopping, stocking up on gifts, some clothes and shoes. You must check out Harbour Town it’s outlet shopping on the Gold Coast set out like street shopping rather than in a complex. It reminded me of Rouse Hill town centre in Western Sydney (just not as new). There were so many bargains!
Cafes, cooking and cleaning filled the rest of the weekend, along with a walk to my favourite market. I can’t wait to show you next week some of the interesting fruit we bought here. Saturday night we dressed up and went out for Thai.

Earrings from Diva, similar here
Worn with these Tony Bianco flats ‘Sherry’ (NB: they look super ugly in Gold here but I bought them in an azure blue – gorgeous!)
It wouldn’t have felt like a visit from Mum without her baked dinner (with purple carrots)! Yes, I felt very much at home.
Food and shopping aside, it was wonderful to have three quality days with my Mum. The best advice she gave me – be slow to speak, quick to listen. Love you Mum, hope you have a great Mother’s Day tomorrow.
