I disappeared from Eat Pray Workout for a few weeks for some rest with friends and family. During that time I had my mum visit for a week, Reis and I spent four days in Melbourne, my brother-in-law came to visit for a few days and my sister for a week after that. Taking some time out means I now have a whole new list of experiences to share with you!
I’m also really looking forward to getting back into normal life, cooking for myself rather than eating out all the time (as wonderful as that has been). I’ve missed creating fresh and nourishing recipes for Eat Pray Workout. First, I thought I would share with you about our much needed trip to Melbourne. I finished my exams last semester and then Reis went away for three weeks so when he got back we flew down to Melbourne.
We stayed at the Hilton on South Wharf and this was our view. I was amazed by the room alone and then we pulled back these curtains to see the view of Melbourne. My reaction was almost akin to that when Reis asked me to marry him: ‘WHAT?! WHAT?! You’re kidding?!?! THIS IS AMAZING!!!’ accompanied by a massive jump of excitement into his arms. We popped the champagne and flopped into the cloud-like down pillows on our king bed.
We didn’t do much during our holiday to Melbourne, just wandered the streets, shopped, ate and caught up with some friends and family. I will share some restaurant & cafe reviews in posts soon for those who live in Melbourne or will be visiting soon!
The view from the executive lounge is stunning, well worth it if you get the chance!
British Foreign Bible Society below….pretty swanky building. These guys are now known as the Bible Society but they distribute the bible all around the world in various languages.
Finding good coffee in dirty, pokey and popular alley ways. What else do you do in Melbourne!?
We flew home over a sunset, the perfect way to end our trip.
I loved wearing my coats and a thousand layers underneath during our holiday to melbourne but also really enjoyed coming home to the Sunshine State where a light cardigan is all that is required.
