Very early in the morning on 22 March 2015, some of the Eat Pray Workout community came together for breakfast and a 15km walk. If you follow the EPW on instagram, Facebook or twitter, you no doubt would be well versed in what this was for. This was to raise funds for Care Australia’s Walk in Her Shoes Campaign 2015, you can watch my video about this here.
As you can tell by the bags under my eyes, I was fairly tired. This not just because it was so early in the morning, but because was at the end of the week of walking 100km to raise funds for Care Australia. Thank you to all the beautiful people who chipped in to help women in poverty. Together, we raised $1640! If you donated, know that YOU are helping bring women out of poverty by bringing them an opportunity to have time to be educated (rather than walking to reach the essentials in life) – so on behalf of those women, thank you.
Our breakfast at Beach House was wonderful! We had 18 people attend and Beach House Health Bar even opened up 1/2 an hour early for us. Alex, the general manager, provided excellent customer service and was very generous in offering walkers 1/2 price breakfast to encourage and fuel their efforts in supporting Care Australia’s work. Thank you Beach House!
Most people hadn’t visited Beach House South Bank before, but we were all keen to return after trying the fresh breakfast bowls. They have the texture of a thick smoothie and are topped with all sorts of fruit and muesli clusters. Even those who initially turned their noses up at this alternative breakfast were very impressed afterwards! We had young, old, guys, girls and even a puppy join us! The 15km walk around the river went really quickly as we all chatted and got to know each other.
I recommend checking out the raw dessert cabinet when too, especially the salted caramel butter cups. Words can not describe how good it was. They are $3.95 which seems reasonable I suppose you would pay $5 for a muffin with little or no nutritional value. A great alternative!
Couldn’t make it to the breakfast at Beach House but still want to try their superfood breakfast bowls?
Drop in on a Monday and each week they have a new flavour being served for just $10!
