Meeting the hearts and lives of those that are behind the growth and preparation of the fresh food that is so easily available to us, is a rare opportunity. That’s why I want my Queenslanders and travelling readings to note this date in your diaries – 13-14 September 2014. The quaint Maleny Showground is holding the Real Food Festival, a celebration of local Sunshine Coast farmers, manufacturers, retailers and restaurants.
Not much of cook? That’s okay, you can learn! There will be demonstrations from some of the best chefs. Leading chef and cookbook author Christine Mansfield (pictured below) is the guest chef and will be sharing her love for cooking along side local restaurants’ chefs.
Come and learn the tips and tricks of the trade from the experts; say thank you to those who work the land; pick up some fresh produce; attend discussions about health, diet and gardening; and most importantly, come and enjoy a good feed!
For more information about the celebration including whose exhibiting and what fun hands-on activities, demonstrations and discussions are on throughout the weekend, check out the Sunshine Coast Real Food Festival website.
Please comment if you’re planning to attend so I know to keep an eye out for you! Reis and I will be soaking up the fun all weekend.
