Fresh produce, good coffee and great friends are all common denominators found in my weekends. There is something so comforting and rejuvenating about the warm bitter but smooth hot liquid that is coffee enjoyed over laughter-filled conversation. If you follow me on instagram, you would have seen me mention a new favourite café…The Sourced Grocer!
Our dear friend Andy stayed with us last weekend and generously spoilt us with a delicious lunch at this cute café – cross deli – cross grocery store.
It was so lovely to explore their perfectly packed shelves and wooden baskets of fresh, glossy, colour bursting fruit whilst we were waiting for our food. Their shelves and refrigerator room are filled with deli products, exotic cheeses and meat.
With our lunch on our lap we ate, chat and people watched. It is a nice place to people watch – the regulars bring their pampered pooches and the newbies (like me) ooooOOooo and aaahhh at its hipster like-ways. Forget cash registers, they have apple computers! Seats? Don’t be silly, unless your super lucky to get the two tables inside, you’re options are the stairs or a milk crate (with a pillow if you’re lucky), but it’s all part of the charm. The milk crates are enticing, that is until you sit down and realise they aren’t as comfortable as they are cute. Yes I’m becoming an old woman…or maybe it’s a good excuse to eat more chocolate? BYO cushioning? Either way, I was glad when we nabbed a seat on the front bench in the sun.
I lent my camera to a friend for the weekend, so the above pictures were taken with the trusty iPhone. To prevent the post from becoming too much of an eye sore, I borrowed some pictures from another Brisbane blogger Social Emissions – check her blog out, I really like her style!
